Celebrating Student Birthdays!
Hi teaching friends! Since today was my beautiful daughter’s birthday, it got me to thinking about what I normally do in my classroom for student birthdays.

Traditionally, I have always done a birthday certificate, pencil, and the cha-cha-cha filled birthday song. I know birthday celebrations and treats are becoming more and more obsolete as we don’t have time or are banned from celebrating by school district administration. That, in itself, is sad to me, but I can tell you that even my high school daughter was excited today because her Spanish teacher gave her a sticker and had the class sing Happy Birthday (in Spanish, of course) to her.
The smallest things really can mean a lot – even to a teenage girl in high school!
